San Cassiano

San Cassiano

This lovely village is located at the foot of the Lagazuoi at 1,537 m asl

Actually San Cassiano belongs to Badia and is situated at the foot of the imposing rock faces of Lavarella, Conturines and Lagazuoi. In awhile San Cassiano is a favoured holiday destination for hikers and alpinists, who seek the challenge of scaling rugged rock faces of this area.

In winter and summer alike, San Cassiano is surrounded by the oh-so lovely Dolomite landscape. In winter this fairytale-like scenery is perfect for cross-country skiers and winter sport enthusiasts, as not far from the village you can enjoy skiing in the Alta Badia and Plan de Corones skiing area. In summer, however, not only tourists enjoy the fresh mountain air. In this area nature invites you to hike and walk.

Also gourmets are warmly welcome in San Cassiano, as there are several excellent gourmet restaurants.

> Our recommendation: visti the Lagazuoi gallery! The entrance can be found in front of the mountain station of the Lagazuoi funicular.
