Ladin museum “Ciastel de Tor”
Located in San Martino in Badia, this museum is dedicated to the history of Ladin population
The population of Val Badia lives in the heart of the Dolomites and is characterised by a special language as well as an scenic landscape in the heart of the Southern Alps.
As this valley is characterised by a lively past, the Ladin Museum has been originated in order to make information about the valley available to everyone. A visit of this museum does not only give you an insight into the history of Ladin localities, but also into the Ladin language, which stood the test of time and is still spoken today. However, this museum does not only reveal information about Val Badia, but also about Val Gardena and Val di Fassa (Trentino).
The Ladin museum can be found in the castle of San Martino in Badia.
By the way: in the inner yard of the castle, every year there are special exhibitions and concerts. Also seminars about the Ladin language and culture are held in this castle.
