Hiking across Val Mezdě
The Val Mezdě is not only a perfect place for freeriding, but can also be explored on foot in summer
This exhausting hike starts in Colfosco, from where we hike towards hotel Luianta, taking the path n° 651 that leads us into Val Mezdě. At the altitude of Dent de Mezdě (2.881 m asl) the path cuts path n° 676, leading to the Pisciadů refuge. The last part of the path is rather difficult and often covered by snow and ice. However, fixed ropes line the path. From the high plateau at the foot of Col Toronn it is easy to reach the Boč refuge (2,871 m), via path n° 647.
Take the same route for your way back. However, all those who only would like to hike down Val Mezdi have the possibility to take the bus from Colfosco to Passo Pordoi. This is where you can take the funicular to Pordoi refuge, where the path n° 647 guides you to the Boč refuge. And don’t forget… this is where daredevil freeriders ski down in winter :-) When you look down the valley, you know why whe mention it.
Difficulty: difficult tour
Drop: about 1,220 m
Walking time: about 7 ˝ hours
