Freeride Val Mezdì
Also this year the Val Mezdì is venue for one of the most breathtaking freeride events ever.
Probably all freeriders are familiar with the Val Mezdì, which is one of the most classic freeride stretches of the Eastern Alps and is famous not only in this area. It is a medium to low difficulty course which, however, is reserved to experts who are capable of skiing on all types of snow. Moreover there are some really steep passages to overcome.
Since several years now, there is the Freeride Val Mezdí race taking place exactly in this couloir. This race is considered to be a re-edition of the first freeride competition that took place in the Dolomites in the 40s. Start of the race is at the Boé/Bamberger Refuge, the finish is located at Colfosco and the altitude difference athletes have to overcome is 1,226 m.
It is really a breathtaking event, taking place in the heart of the Sella mountain range. Come and see the athletes skiing down the couloir and watch happenings from Colfosco.
When? March 26/27/28
