“Slittada da paur” - horse sleigh parade

Horses and lushly decorated sleighs are in the centre of attention in a traditional event taking place in Alta Badia.

February 14, 2010 is a special day in Alta Badia, as this is when horses and precious, lushly decorated sleighs tour across this area, in memory of a Sunday tour farmers in this area used to make once upon a time. For this event farmers use original sleighs that are decorated on the occasion of this event. Once these sleighs were the only means of transport for farmers in the valley and they were used to transport hey as well as to go to church on Sundays. Every family had its own sleigh with carvings and pecularities.

Farmers were costumes in every colours for the so called „Slittada da paur“, which means farmer’s sleigh ride. Moreover there is a horse sleigh parade and competition and spectators are warmly welcome. A unique event is expecting you. Horses and riders are expected at the sports field of La Villa around midday.
