S. Caterina parish church

The church of Corvara is dedicated to S. Caterina.

The parish church of Corvara has been mentioned for the first time in 1347. On August 26, 1452 the church has been dedicated to S. Caterina, and repeatedly in 1501.

This church has been constructed in late Gothic style. In the interior there are numerous precious frescos, including the oldest painting which shows S. Caterina. This fresco is located at the left wall next to the entrance. The martyry of the Saint is depicted on the outer wing of the altar. This piece of art has been created by Ruprecht Potsch in 1520.

Our recommendation: as the whole year round the inner side of the altar is shown, we recommend you to visit the church during Lenten Season, as in this period of time the altar is closed and thus shown from outside...
