What is RSS

Think about all of the information that you access on the Web on a day-to-day basis; news headlines, search results, "What's New", job vacancies, and so forth. By using RSS feeds, users are now able to have news constantly fed to them instead of searching for it.

The user gets a list that will display the latest headlines, each one with a synopsis and link that will take him to the website containing the full story.

Technical requirements

To view the web feeds you need a software called a news reader or aggregator, which most of the time can be downloaded from the Internet for free.

• The feeds you have registered for are automatically searched for new entries.
• Whereas traditional newsletters ask you to tell them your e-mail address, you do not have to do so using RSS feeds
