Hiking to the Armentara pastures and Santa Croce pilgrimage church

One of the moste beautiful spring hikes an Alta Badia

The Armentara pastures, located above La Valle, are particularly striking due to the sea of flowers that covers these meadows... a real must-see! Primroses, globeflowers, anemones and gentians as far as the eye can see.

Our hike starts slightly below, actually at the restaurant Al Bagni at La Valle. After a one-hours' walk across the forest we arrive at the blossoming Armentara pastures. From a geological point of view, these meadows are located at the west end of the Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park. If you wonder how the striking mountain peaks in the background are called.. it is Sass dles Diesc and Sasso Croce.

Let's go on! After half an hour of walking we reach our next hiking destination, which is Sasso Croce hospice and the homonymous pilgrimage church!

For your way back we recommend you to take the La Valle high path, which is characterised by a great panoramic view.
