Gardenaccia

The vast Gardenaccia Highland in the Puez-Odle Nature Park is situated right beneath the 2,633 m high Mt. Col de la Soné

The extensive Gardenaccia High Plateau, which forms the eastern part of the Puez Group, stretches from more than 1,700 m a.s.l. up to the rock faces of the 2,633 m high Mt. Col de la Soné. In the south-east, however, it is dominated by Mt. Sassongher (2,665 m a.s.l.).

The Gardenaccia Highland is a well-known hiking and excursion destination with beautiful views on the Alta Badia valley and the Fanes Group with its majestic peaks, including Mt. Sasso di Santa Croce, Mt. Piz Cunturines, Mt. Lagazuoi and Mt. Settsass. A hike across the Gardenaccia Highland leads you to Mt. Col Plö Alt (2,330 m a.s.l.) or to the popular Rif. Puez mountain hut.

Also the Rif. Gardenacia mountain hut owes its name to the high plateau with its moon-shaped landscape. The refuge can be found at 2,050 m a.s.l. in the heart of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park - it is accessible in a 40-minute walk starting at the mountain station of the Gardenaccia Chairlift. The lift takes you in summer and winter alike from the village of La Villa up to 1,780 m a.s.l.
