It is obligatory to carry an EU pet passport along where the valid anti-rabies inoculation of your dog must appear. Furthermore your companion needs a microchip or a well-readable tattoo so that it can be clearly identified.
In Italy there is the mandatory use of dog leashes and you always have to carry a muzzle along, to use e.g. on public transport. On buses, seeing-eye dogs and small dogs are transported for free, for all other dogs a ticket must be bought. On cable cars and chair lifts, dogs normally are transported for free in Alta Badia.
Please remember that the disposal of dog excrements is obligatory. Along the walking paths in the valley and in all villages bag dispensers and litter bins can be found.
