At the western edge of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park there are some beautiful mountain meadows, characterised by a great variety of flowers in late spring and at the beginning of summer: gentian, globeflower and alpine anemone grow here among others. Above the timber line the alpine pastures extend beneath the mighty rock faces of Mt. Sasso delle Dieci and the **Sasso di Santa Croce Group. Also the famous Rif. Santa Croce (La Crusc) mountain hut with its homonymous pilgrimage church can be found here.**
The Armentara Meadows (Roda de Armentara) cover a surface of 300 hectares and are accessible in a beautiful hike either from La Villa/Furnacia on the 'Roda de Armentara' trail (1 hour) or from Badia/San Leonardo (90 minutes). In winter, however, they represent a popular destination for winter hikes: the snowy nature and the shining rocks create a very special atmosphere.
